I made ice candles.

During the recent cold spell, this was the perfect opportunity! I thought to myself,
I made ice candles, which I have wanted to make for a long time.

Ice candles/Ice lanterns/Ice lanterns

We prepared an empty can and a small cup.

Fill the can with water and the cup with water.
Filling the cup with water is to prevent the cup from floating away.
The larger cans were filled with plastic bottles.
Simply leave it outside in sub-zero temperatures overnight.

The tin that contained the seaweed was a pull-top tin, but the edge of the tin protrudes slightly inwards.
It was difficult to get the ice out of the ice that had formed because it got stuck there.

During this cold spell, the maximum daytime temperature was -8°C, so conditions were perfect for ice play without the ice candles melting.

Just when you think it's warmed up a bit, it's back to being cold again...
