about me

Hello
I'm Risu Morino.

Living between Tokyo and a forest home since 2017. In my 60s.
I live with my husband and one dog, Mocha (born in 2000 ,girl).
Our only son is now an adult and lives independently.

A calm heart is a quiet strength.

Living in the forest has taught me that within quietness,
there is a place we can return to—a place that feels safe.
That sense of safety, I believe, is what allows calmness to grow.

In our daily lives, many things happen—
both joyful moments and those we would rather not face.
Emotions move like a pendulum,
swinging between the positive and the negative,
sometimes widely, sometimes barely at all.

But over time,
they gently find their way back to the center.
Just as ripples appear when a stone touches the surface of a lake,
if we wait and watch quietly,
a mirror-like stillness returns,
once again reflecting the surrounding landscape.

Just as a mirror-like lake reflects a beautiful landscape,
within stillness, we begin to notice the true beauty of the world as it is.

Rather than suppressing our emotions,
we simply return to a state of neutral quiet.
It is a place where we can feel safe.
And in time, we begin to hear our true inner voice—
a voice that can only be heard in stillness.

The breath of trees and wildflowers, the sound of the wind, the passing of the seasons.
The beauty of nature is always close to us.
And just like that beauty,
I believe there is also a quiet beauty
surely present within the ordinary days of our lives.

Together with nature— softly, gently, and lightly.
Finding stillness deep within my heart, no matter the moment,
I wish to live while cherishing the small, everyday joys of life.

Peace begins with a smile 🌿.
